マイケル・ジャクソン〜Michael Jackson〜 - Somewhere in the world〜世界一周〜

８月１３日。

昨日から、セントマーチンズのサマーコースが始まった。
内容は、Traditional Tayloring。

仕立て。

伝統的な手法を使った仕立てを教わっている。
一日目にして悟る。
ハンドメイドのジャケットが高い理由を。
そして使うパーツの数と、ステップの多さに驚いた。

授業中は基本的に使われている生地の種類・名前、
必要なテクニックを教わる。只今ジャケットを制作中。

今回の先生は、インド人の小柄な女性。
今日の朝、作業開始前に、今までの経験を話してくれたのだが…

先生が開口一番、

『１５年前、私はマイケル・ジャクソンのステージ用のジャケットを作ってました。』

と言った瞬間、全員目が　・・　になる。
その時のデザインを見せてくれた。

MY summer course has started from Monday at Central Saint Martins.
This course is about traditional tayloring.I'm learing how to make a jacket
and traditional techniques.
My tutor is a tiny Indian lady.
Today,she told us that what she has done before.

She said...
“15years ago I was making Michael Jackson's jacket”

and I thought ...W・H・A・T！！？？

She explaned about a project.
The fabric was made from glasses.The fabric cost was £6,000 per meter.
It took her a month to complete the job and she hated it,because
duling the time she had to keep it secret even her family.

After finished it the jacket was packed in a banana's box,
so nobody didn't realise the jacket in it.
